Why should I treat my feet to a pedicure?

Our feet carry us on our journey through life from the moment we start walking as a toddler, yet they are often forgotten when it comes to getting pampered. Our feet take so much pressure, so can’t tell you how important it is to ‘put your feet up’ and enjoy a pedicure in the salon.  It’s a real treat, for both MEN and women.

Apart from keeping your toe nails neat, a regular pedicure will keep your feet moisturized, remove any dry/hard skin, and keep your feet looking beautiful and healthy. Your therapist will also give you a relaxing lower leg and foot massage which aids blood circulation and relieves built up tension.

In the salon, we offer the ELEMIS BEST FOOT FORWARD treatment for both Chaps and Chapettes – take the load off with this foot-focused tension releaser. Lower legs and feet are thoroughly exfoliated with Frangipani Monoi Salt Glow, bathed, massaged and finished with Treat Your Feet Foot Cream; rich in shea butter and jojoba oil to leave your feet feeling supple and fragrant.

What are the benefits of a MANicure?

What are the benefits of a MANicure?

We use our hands all day long while working or at home, so we need to take proper care of them by visiting a professional in the salon at least once a month.

In our lives we use our hands to express ourselves when talking, using hand gestures, working or getting creative. Our hands are also someone's first impression of us when shaking hands etc., so it's really important we keep them looking, clean, tidy and healthy. Especially if you have an interview coming up or embarking on a new career.

Aside from the obvious benefits; a manicure is a great excuse to take time out of your busy schedule and relax. Something a lot of us simply don’t make enough time for. A manicure is typically 30-45 minutes so can be scheduled on your lunch break or on your way home. There really is no excuse not to take some time out for yourself, unwind and de-stress. Any form of self-care can improve your mental-wellbeing and leave you smiling.

Our LUXURY MANICURE is designed just for MEN using ELEMIS products with little or no fragrance and no varnish is applied! We bathe and exfoliate the hands with Frangipani Monoi Salt Glow, trim and shape the nails and cuticles. We finish with a relaxing hand and arm massage and apply Pro-Radiance Hand and Nail Cream; which quickly absorbs to nourish the hands and nails.

The luxury MANicure is a MUST if you are getting married! The photographer is bound to get a close-up picture of your rings or of you and your loved one cutting the cake. Don’t let what seems a minor detail ruin those special moments, those memories are captioned forever and you’ll look back with pride if you invest in your hands prior to THE BIG DAY.  Check out our GROOM PACKAGE, for pre-wedding prep!

We also offer an express NAIL TIDY to maintain the nails in between manicures, we simply clip, file and buff the nails to keep them looking neat and tidy.

For Chapettes we offer the luxurious Garden of England Rose Restore Hand Treatment by Elemis.

All the ingredients in the products used in this treatment are sourced in the UK, hence its name ‘Garden of England’ rose restore hand treatment. The delicate Rose massage balm by ELEMIS is beautifully massaged in to the skin to condition and nourish the hands and nails, after they have been shaped and cuticles clipped. Hands are exfoliated using one of our star products -Frangipani Monoi Salt Glow, which targets dry areas. The therapist will then finish with Pro-Radiance Hand and Nail Cream; which nourishes both the hands and the nails.

How to style your beard

How to style your beard

So many of you ask how to style your beards so Martyn, our Beard Master, is on hand with his best beard styling tips:

“Styling a beard is usually best done after it being washed in the shower, using a purpose made beard wash. Here is my step by step routine that I use for my own beard:

  1. Make sure that your beard has been patted dry (ok if slight dampness), and take either a 5p amount (if using beard oil) or about a thumbnail sized amount (if using beard balm/cream), and rub against both hands.

  1. Once evenly coated (or melted down to no lumps if a beard balm), rub thoroughly into your beard.

  1. Be sure to start at the base of the beard, as close to the skin as possible, and work towards the tip of the hair for full and complete coverage.

  1. Using a rounded hair brush or preferably a bristled beard brush, start by gently brushing upwards and outwards, starting from the neck going up, and coming off your jaw line. This is to work knots out from underneath.

  1. Using a hairdryer on medium heat and with brush still in hand, start to brush your beard back down into shape; directing the air flow to aid this.

  1. You can also use a beard comb to further define the style and shape of your beard.

Regular application of either a beard oil or beard balm/cream will help to fully remove any pesky beard flakes and beard itch.

In addition, the conditioning agents found in beard oils/balms/creams will help to ensure that your beard doesn’t develop split ends and will look its very best.”

Beard Sculpt

A regular Beard Sculpt with your barber will help to maintain your beards shape, prevent split ends and encourage growth. During your appointment, your barber can recommend customised advice on products and styling tips for your beard. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, we are always happy to help.

Product recommendations:

Morgans Beard Wash

We recommend using this beard wash as it lathers up nicely and leaves your beard feeling soft and easy to manage. As well as smelling amazing with the Morgans signature fragrance; hints of bergamot, jasmine, sandal and patchouli.

Beard Oils/ Creams

Products for conditioning the beard are personal preference, some people prefer cream to oil but we recommend you try different textures to see what works best for you.

Apothecary 87 beard oils

We highly rate these beard oils; rich in natural, plant-based oils and for their unique scent.  These oils are designed to nourish & soften the hair, moisturise the skin underneath, reduce irritation and allow for healthy beard growth. Original Recipe and Vanilla and Mango scents.

Morgans Luxury Beard Cream

This luxurious, unique formula will leave your facial hair feeling soft, conditioned and well maintained. Infused with aromatic notes of bergamot, lime, green tea, musk and sandal. This product is great for beards of all shapes and sizes but ideal for short facial hair.

Hot Oil Beard Treatment

Dry hair is unruly and hard to manage, so if you are finding your beard hard to style and it has lots of ‘fly-away’ hairs, it may be due to the condition of your facial hair. We offer a Hot Oil Beard Treatment which is excellent for softening course hair, repairing split ends and conditioning dry brittle hair. Keeping your facial hair conditioned is essential for growing a BIG beard and keeping it looking healthy.

What is The MILLION DOLLAR Facial?

What is The MILLION DOLLAR Facial?

The MILLION DOLLAR Facial is a new facial created and copyrighted by DERMAPLANE UK, it’s a luxurious facial where science meets indulgence. The MILLION DOLLAR Facial combines two proven and popular facial techniques, to create amazing results: Dermaplaning and Microneedling

What does it do?

The MILLION DOLLAR Facial works the skin from the outside, in and is designed to deeply exfoliate dead skin cells and remove non-terminal hair (peachy fuzz), polish the skin, flush toxins, increase and stimulate natural collagen production and cell turnover. The facial method heavily increases the absorption of products to 80% as opposed to normal 8%.

The facial starts with a double cleanse to remove any makeup/dirt, then we tone the skin before beginning the Dermaplaning. The Dermaplaning then removes any dead skin cells and non-terminal hair to reveal a fresh layer of skin. Then a Lymphatic drainage massage is performed to flush out any toxins. We then perform the Microneedling for two sessions.

Microneedling uses small needles to pierce the skin. This causes slight trauma to the skin and increases the natural production of collagen and elastin, and what's not to love about that! It also increases the absorption of products, and leaves your skin feeling smoother, firmer and more toned. Microneedling is also great for scar tissue and large pores.

The Hylaronic mask is then applied after microneedling, which is nice and soothing. This mask locks in any moisture and plumps the skin. Finally, SPF and serum are applied and the treatment is done. Initially, most clients experience some redness which lasts roughly 12 hours and there is no downtime required. The treatment takes roughly 1 hour.
